Oconbrick quality scores again

Clay brick manufacturer Oconbrick has scooped the PMR.africa Golden Arrow business leadership award in its sector of the South African construction industry – the fourth year in a row in which it has collected the prestigious trophy.

The award to the Murray & Roberts group company capped the findings of a national survey of suppliers of bricks, formwork and scaffolding. It scored a mean 4.05 out of a maximum of 5.00 in a random national sample of respondents representing building materials retailers and representatives of construction companies.

Respondents were asked to rate suppliers based on the following attributes:

  • Ability to meet orders
  • Meeting delivery promises
  • Flexibility
  • Price/cost
  • Product quality
  • Product range
  • Responsiveness.

The annual award recognises excellence in the building industry while at the same time aiming to set benchmarks for others to aspire to.
